About Rocco

Rocco Webb is a Scottish Speedway Rider, racing in the British Youth Championships and previously British Northern Junior League.

Rocco has followed Speedway with his family all his life, supporting Edinburgh Monarchs.  In 2021, when he was 10 years old, he got the chance to ride his 50cc dirt bike on the mini-training track at Armadale Speedway - this quickly turned onto a stronger love for speedway, where he was able to join the Monarchs Speedway Academy, and be coached by ex-riders, David McAllan and Sean Stoddart.

In 2022, Rocco continued to put in the training hours at the Academy and took the chance of second halves at Armadale.  He now had his own speedway bike and was offered a team place with West Lothian Wildcats in the Northern Junior League.  Gaining confidence with every lap.  He also competed in the British Youth Championship, Scottish Open Academy Championship and the Teesside Amateur Series, giving him the experience of many tracks and a taste of traveling to race meetings.

2023, saw Rocco become stronger in stature and in confidence, as he began to trial different bikes and riding styles using 150cc engines and get his first real taste of guest booking with other teams such as Berwick and Redcar.  His racing took him further afield to Scunthorpe, Workington and the National Speedway track at Belle Vue, Manchester.  Again, he raced in the British Youth Championship as part of Young Lions Speedway, this time with 4 out of 6 podium finishes and crowned British Youth Champion 2023 in the 125cc Support Class.  Further silverware came by surprise when West Lothian Wildcats were confirmed League Title Winners after a count back.

Rocco made a fast start in 2024 - A second season with West Lothian Wildcats, stepping up to the 125cc Category competing in the British Youth Championships finishing in 3rd place, and honoured to represent Young Lions in riding at the Speedway Riders Benevolent Meeting, Workington. Another summer fulfilled with training at the Academy and traveling around the British tracks, taking the chance of second-half racing and guest bookings.  All the time learning from his heroes, gaining experience from different track conditions and pulling in the laps with trials on bigger engines.  Even a wee bit awestruck at times attending training days with David McAllan, Sean Stoddart, Scott Nicholls, Leon Flint, Kevin Little, Scott Courtney, Mitchell Davey, (to namedrop a few).

The training wheels were off by 2025, when Rocco took to the tapes on his first 500cc engine, riding in British Youth Championships, amateur events and second halves.  Though this decision came at a price – being only 14 and stepping up in engine size, means he was illegible for team racing within the Northern Junior League.  He used the season off track to his advantage, being on the tools, working in the pits with the mechanics and learning all he can about getting the best out of his bikes.

2026 will allow Rocco to step into team racing once again with all the more experience and the speed that will come with this, and he will be Race- ready! He is committed, as always, to continue training, develop track craft and progress to the next level of racing.

Rocco sends special thanks to his family, friends, sponsors and supporters who’s help and support are measured.  Thank you for keeping him going through the tough times and cheering him on over the line.
